The Grand Finale event of the Cherry Blossom Festival has been rained out, bringing the festival to a soggy end after several days of sunny weather.
The final event at Wesleyan College scheduled for this afternoon was canceled, according to Cherry Blossom Festival CEO Karen Lambert.
The festival was to end with a family-friendly picnic and fireworks at the Wesleyan campus.
Earlier today, the Mulberry Street Arts and Crafts Festival was cut short and the amusements at Central City Park were also closed.
Mae Thurston of the Middle Georgia Art Association told 13WMAZ that the crafts festival had officially remained open for business until the last vendor gave in to the weather and packed up.
Last night's Street Party on Cherry Street was also called off after the first of two tornado warnings for Macon were posted late Saturday afternoon.
