Autopsy Says West Macon Woman Was Strangled
News

An autopsy says a west Macon woman was strangled this weekend.

Bibb County coroner Leon Jones said 54-year-old Shirley Odom died of asphyxia by strangulation, and Monday's autopsy called her death a homicide.

Odom was the sixth person killed in Macon in October, and the second person killed in the neighborhood within a week.

Macon police say a friend found Odom dead Saturday night inside her home on Brown Avenue, which is off Grand Avenue near Napier Avenue.

No one has been charged in her death.

If you have any information, you can call the Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
