Bibb Co. Sheriff's Deputy Attacked By Dog, Sent to Hospital
News

A Bibb County Sheriff's Deputy was taken to the hospital after he was attacked and bit by a pitbull Sunday afternoon, according to a news release.

The release says two deputies, Dallas Malone and Barry Warren, responded to a domestic dispute call between Patricia Hodges, and her son, Adam Hodges, on Fulton Mill Road around 2 p.m.

When the two deputies got  there, a pitbull named Jack charged towards Deputy Malone.  The deputies asked Adam Hodges to put the dog up, and Hodges put Jack inside his mom's vehicle, according to the release.  But Patricia Hodges let the dog out and it started running towards the deputies.

Then Adam Hodges took the dog inside the home.  As the deputies were leaving the home, the dog, unprovoked, charged out the back door, and bit Deputy Warren on the back of his right leg, the release says.

The release says Warren shot and killed the pitbull in defense.

Charges are pending in the investigation.
