Council Votes to Extend Service Delivery Deadline
News

Macon City Council voted Tuesday night to extend the deadline for service delivery strategy negotiations  between the city and Bibb County to February 28, 2011.

The service delivery strategy is an agreement between the city and the county that explains who provides and pays for public services.

Mayor Robert Reichert asked council for the extension two weeks ago because he said they couldn't make the previous deadline of Oct. 31.

He says they're behind schedule because the city still hasn't gotten the results of a tax-equity study. When they do get it, Reichert says, the city will need the extra time to review the results.
