Employees help community groups in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day

WHEN:                   Monday, January 17, 2011

 

WHAT:                   Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to the service of others.  In honor of his legacy, Georgia Power employees will use Monday, January 17, a company holiday, for volunteer service and community enhancement.

Employees in the Central Region will commemorate the day by volunteering with local community organizations.

WHERE:                Macon
Meals on Wheels of Bibb County (1212 Gray Hwy.) – Georgia Power volunteers will pack meals beginning at 8 a.m. for delivery to Meals on Wheels clients. Contact Winnie Hinton at 478-745-9140.


Georgia Power’s commitment to volunteer service on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is a statewide effort.  In addition to volunteers in the Central Region, employees are working with civic groups to help beautify neighborhoods and support community programs around the state.
