Henry Ficklin won a two-man race for a Macon City Council seat.
Ficklin ran against Ron Lemon in a special election for the Ward III Post 2 seat to serve the remainder of the term vacated by former council member Alveno Ross.
With all 41 precincts counted, Ficklin led, 1,782 votes to 1,203. That's 60 percent to 40.
Ficklin is running after an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2007 and a three-year absence from city politics. He spent more than 20 years on Macon city council.
Lemon lives and works in the Vineville neighborhood as a chiropractor. As a leader of the Vineville neighborhood association, Lemon says he has experience with the area's issues.
