Heritage Elementary will host a workshop for parents on Tuesday, January 25 from 5-6 p.m. titled Improving Math and Homework Skills.

The workshop will be led by the school’s Professional Learning Coach, Rhonda Jones, and she will provide engaging strategies to increase math scores and creative ways to make homework fun.

This workshop is one in a series of opportunities for parents to learn more about how they can better support their child’s education.

Other workshops have included: What Does Title I Mean?, Family Literacy Night and Computer Basics and Internet Safety.  More than 400 parents attended the Family Literacy night, and other workshops have averaged 15-25 parents.

“Feedback from the parents has been very positive,” says Heritage Elementary Family Engagement Facilitator Lewanna Stubbs. “They are eager to learn ways to help their children succeed in school, and they appreciate having this time to learn new strategies, ask questions and network with other parents.”
