With over two decades of experience in the retirement community industry, Tom Rockenbach, Jr. was named executive director at Carlyle Place.

Rockenbach, Jr. previously served as chief operating officer with Presbyterian Homes of Georgia from 2001 through 2009. He started his career in the retirement community industry in 1986 at Philadelphia Presbyterian Homes. After six years, he relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and served as Vice President of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) at Presbyterian SeniorCare. He developed and opened Longwood at Oakmont, an accredited, full-service Type A CCRC built in three phases from 1992 to 1998.

In addition to his work in the field of CCRC, Rockenbach, Jr. was elected twice as a Township Supervisor (city council member) when residing in Pittsburgh, and was appointed to the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers Training Commission by Governor Tom Ridge. He served from 1999 until he relocated to Georgia in 2001.

Rockenbach, Jr. was active in the Pennsylvania Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (PANPHA) as well as Aging Services of Georgia – formerly Georgia Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (GAHSA) – where he served as Chair of the Public Policy Committee for seven years and as the Chair of the GAHSA Board in 2006 and 2007. He also served on American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) as a member of the House of Delegates in 2008 and 2009.
