Macon state Sen. Robert Brown says he's hosting a statewide transit summit that will feature the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.

Brown says Secretary Raymond LaHood will speak Friday, Oct. 22 at the two-day program at the Macon City Auditorium.

Brown, a Democrat, and Chickamauga state Sen. Jeff Mullis, a Republican, will host the summit, titled, "Building Partnerships for Georgia's Transportation Future," on Oct. 21 and 22.

A news release says, "The bi-partisan summit will bring federal, state, local and business partners together to discuss innovative solutions to move Georgia's transportation forward."

Brown says he encourages the public to attend.
