Cannonball House Director Presents History Lesson at Alexander II | Arts & Culture
Earl Colvin, Executive Director at the Cannonball House, visited Priscilla Stanley's fifth-grade class at Alexander II Magnet School in September to present on the Social Studies standard SS5H1, which says students will be able to identify the major battles of the Civil War; i.e. Battle of Gettysburg, the attack of Fort Sumter, the Atlanta Campaign, Sherman's March to the Sea, and General Grant's surrender of Appomattox Courthouse.
Mr. Colvin came dressed as a Union soldier to share his knowledge. He also brought the type of food the soldiers ate during war (Hardtac).
