Macon Arts Alliance Features Artists' Work as Holiday Gifts

The Gallery at Macon Arts Alliance will hold receptions for its December Trunk Shows on Dec. 14 and 21 from 4-7 p.m. Featured artists include: Alicia Bailey David, Lauren Bausch, Melena Bisanti-Wall, Glenda Bozeman, Fred Kachelhofer, Cheri Lesauskis, Kelly Robertson, Helen Rogers and Skip Yetter.

Trunk shows are based on a similar concept used by fashion designers who hold trunk shows at retail outlets for select customers. The Gallery has adapted the concept to allow individual artists to set up tables within the gallery and feature a wide selection of their most beautiful and compelling arts and crafts. The focus is on gift-sized art that is both affordable and original. These items make great gifts because they can't be found anywhere else. "The mission of Macon Arts Alliance is to foster and support the advancement of arts and culture in Central Georgia," said Jonathan Dye, director of communications at Macon Arts Alliance. "These trunk shows give artists increased exposure during a time when people are most interested in purchasing their work. Macon Arts Alliance works to ensure that Central Georgia is a place where artists can make a living and thrive as creative professionals." The trunk shows will remain on display, and available for purchase, throughout the week through Christmas Eve. For sale will be ceramics, jewelry, glass art and other small works by some of Central Georgia's best artists. The Gallery at Macon Arts Alliance has extended its hours through Christmas Eve — M-Th 11 a.m. to 6 pm., Fri. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sat. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
