Beauty in the Face of Destruction: A Gallery Talk with Ross Oscar Knight | Arts & Culture
On Jan. 17, Atlanta-based photographer Ross Oscar Knight will give a gallery talk about "Beauty in the Face of Destruction", the exhibit currently on display at The 567 Center for Renewal. It has been over two years since the big earthquake that destroyed Haiti, but rebuilding efforts still continue. Knight, who spent time in Haiti helping with the rebuilding efforts, tells the story of the children, who he sees as the future and hope of Haiti, through this exhibit.
At the gallery talk, he will share anecdotes and insights into the images on display, as well as talk about his personal journey from being an engineer to fulfilling his dream of becoming a full-time, international photographer. Knight has traveled to five different continents, and his images have appeared in various media outlets, including CNN, Oprah Winfrey, HGTV, NBA, Forbes, and Essence.
The gallery talk will start at 6 pm. The 567 is located at 533 Cherry St., Macon. For more information: 238-6051.
