FREE Movies for Senior Citizens every 2nd Wednesday at the Douglass Theatre at 2 p.m.

The 567 Art Opening Scheduled for First Friday

The 567 Art Opening Scheduled for First Friday

The 567 Gallery will host an opening reception for their January art show this Friday, Jan. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m.

Works by fifteen different Macon artists will be shown, and visitors will have a chance to meet the artists at the reception.

The featured artists will be Ellen Banas, Heatherly Darnell, Cristen Dantzler, William Dantzler, Mary Katherine Dunwody, Mikey Eller, Kolby Kitchens, Ricky Lester, Mitch Edward Longan, Deanne Moore, Kenneth Shearer, Olivia Stone, Casey Tinsley, Leslie Hoops-Wallace and Eric Wakefield.

Light refreshments wil be served.

The works featured at the reception will remain in The 567 Gallery until Jan. 28.

In addition to the art opening, The 567 Gallery is open by appointment (melissa@the567.org).

Art openings are held every First Friday at The 567 Gallery.

The 567 Gallery is located at 533 Cherry St. in downtown Macon.

Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards including Best Choreography (Bill T. Jones)

 

Using his pioneering music (a blend of jazz, funk and African rhythm and harmonies), FELA! reveals Kuti’s controversial life as an artist and political activist.

 

Featuring many of Fela Kuti’s most captivating songs and Bill T. Jones’ visionary staging, FELA! – an original new creation – comes via Broadway to London and the National Theatre.

Crossroads Writers Conference to Host CaroLiteraoke

Crossroads Writers Conference will host CaroLiteraoke at the Golden Bough Bookstore Tuesday, Dec. 21.

 CaroLiteraoke is a Christmas gala with a band covering carols, modern Moth-style storytelling and holiday treats.

According to the Crossroads Creative Group facebook page, CaroLiteraoke is "like Literaoke for Christmas songs!"

The event will begin at 8:30 p.m. and admission is free.
