Northeast FFA Chapter Members Attend Ag Expo

Northeast High School FFA members attended the Agricultural Exposition in Moultrie on Wednesday,  October 16.

The event attracts upwards of 100,000 visitors from all over the country. Visitors come for three days to peruse 4,000 product lines from 1,200 commercial exhibitors, and capitalize on educational opportunities from university and college research specialists.

“The Sunbelt Expo embraces change, it’s just amazing to look at how far we’ve come and where we will be going,” said Expo Executive Director Chip Blalock. “We are constantly looking at new technologies and new products and services and their representation at the show is an asset to our visitors.”

Central High Cast Members Recognized at One-Act Play Competition

Central High School students were recognized during One-Act Play Competition on Wednesday, October 24. Cici Love was selected for All Star Cast in Region 2AAA, and Caroline Martin was selected as Regional Best Supporting Actress for Region 2AAA. The students performed a production called "Asylum" about a state-run mental institution.

Vineville Students Raise Funds for United in Pink

Students at Vineville Academy of the Arts raised $567 by Uniting in Pink T-shirts. United in Pink enriches lives and strengthens families affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Vineville Academy supports this organization that seeks to positively affect the quality of life of survivors, and their spouses and children by addressing their psychological, relational, physical and educational needs. Vineville's donation provides a network of support and an offering of hope to all members.

Middle GA State College to Host World Language Day And Competition

Middle GA State College to Host World Language Day And Competition

Area high school students are invited to World Language Day and Competition November 8 from 8 am-2:30 pm at the Macon Campus of Middle Georgia State College.  The event is hosted by MGSC's foreign languages faculty.   A news release from the school says students can enter one or more of the following competitions for prizes including a $1,000 scholarship to MGSC.

The competitions are: Creative Poetry, Poster Board, or Video Commercial.  As part of non-competition activities, students are welcomed to showcase cultural dances, sing songs, or play instruments during the day.  For specific guidlines on the competitions or for more information please email Dr. Sabrina Wengier, assistant professor of French, sabrina.wegnier@maconstate.edu
