MLK Day marchers converge downtown with message of unity | Best Of
On January 16, people gathered at Rosa Jackson Recreation Center, Frank Johnson Recreation Center, Booker T. Washington Center, and Memorial Park Recreation Center to march in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. People prayed and chanted as they made their way downtown and met at Government Center. Mayor Robert Reichert spoke at the event, encouraging everyone to be involved in their community to honor the legacy of Dr. King. You can see pictures from the day, on our Facebook page.
The Martin Luther King Commission is aiming to keep the dream alive not just on MLK Day, but all year. There are events planned all over the community. You can learn more, and get involved, by visiting the Commission's website here.
