Hutchings FCCLA Team Wins Region Culinary Competition | Best Of
The culinary team from Hutchings Career Center won first place in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Region 7 Culinary Competition this month at Camp John Hope in Perry. Team members included Captain Vincent Wright, Romeo Wright, Jose Rodriguez, and Tamia Webb. They prepared Chicken Supreme, Rice Pilaf, and a fresh vegetable medley.
Hutchings teacher Chef Raymond Garrison said the team's win shows their dedication to the craft and attention to detail.
"They put in long hours after school cooking, cleaning, and practicing for the event," he said.
The students will compete at the FCCLA state competition in Athens on March 14-16. Other counties in Region 7 that participated where Houston, Dougherty, and Mitchell Counties.
