Rutland Middle Seventh-Grader Wins Region Spelling Bee | Best Of
After 67 rounds of competition, Rutland Middle School seventh-grader Junus Searcy won first place at the District Six Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 23, by correctly spelling the word "anachronism." He will advance to the State Spelling Bee Competition on March 15 at 11 a.m. at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Junus won the Bibb County Spelling Bee on Saturday, January 26, at Central High School by correctly spelling the word "apricot."
