Robins Federal Credit Union Helps Feed the Hungry

Macon, GA —Robins Federal Credit Union recently contributed to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank.  Robins Federal made a $1,000 food donation as well as a $1,000 monetary donation.

Robins Federal delivered 50 hams to the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank estimates that for every $1 donated, they can provide 8 meals. With this estimate Robins Federal’s donation will provide 17,000 meals to people in the 24 counties that The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank serves.

“We are proud to support an organization like The Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. We understand that these are difficult times for some and we are happy to be able to give back for those in need in our community,” said Dee Dee Côté, Senior Vice President of Administration for Robins Federal Credit Union.

Robins Federal Volunteers with Ronald McDonald

Warner Robins, GA — Robins Federal Credit Union recently partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia by making a $4,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House’s 365 Day Society. A contribution of $1,000 to the 365 Day Society covers the operating cost of the home for one day.

In addition to their monetary donation, Robins Federal staff volunteered to help at the house for two work days. Robins Federal volunteers worked in four different shifts over a two day period. Projects included cleaning the kitchen, organizing the pantry, house cleaning, administrative items and sorting donation coins.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Georgia provides support services for families with critically ill or injured children being treated in area medical facilities. In addition to housing, the families are provided meals and an opportunity to connect with other families facing similar difficult situations.

Warner Robins, GA — Each quarter, Robins Federal Credit Union selects three employees that represent the best of the best in three categories – Manager, Support Department Staff and Branch Staff. Employees are selected by management based on their outstanding work performance and written recommendations from their peers. The winners chosen for the third quarter of 2015 are as follows:

Susan Collins, Perry Branch – Collins is the manager of Robins Federal’s Perry branch. She has been employed with Robins Federal Credit Union for nineteen years. Collins has previously worked as a teller, member service representative, and assistant manager before becoming the branch manager. She enjoys spending time with family and doing volunteer work.

Commissioner Al Tillman to host job fair

A job fair hosted by Macon-Bibb Commissioner Al Tillman will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lizzie Chapel Church on Bartlett Street.

It's for the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department and the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

According to the news release, the fair is the latest in a series of events and outreach efforts hosted by Commissioner Tillman to make people aware of available jobs in Macon-Bibb County.

"We are looking for men and women with a great work ethic and who are full of character, courage and commitment," Marvin Riggins, the fire chief, said. in a statement. He also said over 50 firefighters have retired in recent months.

"This job requires commitment and dedication to the cause," he said. "Every day, we uphold the commitment to excellence, and we are only looking to hire people who carry that same sense of value.

Bibb Co. Superior Court Clerk's Office offering free notary training courses

Erica Woodford, with the Bibb County Superior Court Clerk's office, is offering two free notary trainings to the public.

The classes will be held Wednesday, November 4 at the Macon-Bibb Government Center, located at 700 Poplar St.

Session one is from 10:30 a.m. to noon and session two is from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Community Shreds and Recycles Over 12 Tons of Sensitive Documents

Warner Robins, GA — Central Georgia residents recently shredded 25,250 pounds, or 12.6 tons, of documents containing sensitive material at Robins Federal Credit Union’s popular Shred Day events.

Four Shred Day events were held at Robins Federal Credit Union’s Log Cabin Drive branch in Macon, West Clinton Street branch in Gray, North Houston Road in Warner Robins and Perry Parkway branch in Perry.

Shred Day is a semiannual event with a dual purpose - to protect the Middle Georgia community from identity theft and to protect the environment. Members of the community are invited to shred personal information, including financial records, receipts and prescriptions. All shredded documents are then recycled.
