Robins Financial Continues Partnership with Rebuilding Together

Warner Robins, GA — On Saturday, April 9, Robins Financial Credit Union employees met at a home in Warner Robins to participate in Rebuilding Together’s Christmas In April. Staff members did heavy yard work and made minor repairs to the home for the homeowner.

Robins Financial Credit Union has participated in Rebuilding Together’s Christmas In April since 1997 and has donated over $100,000 to Rebuilding Together since that time.

“Robins Financial Credit Union believes in giving back to the community. We are proud to continue to partner with Rebuilding Together in an effort to make our community a better place,” Dee Dee Côté, Senior Vice President of Administration for Robins Financial Credit Union, said.

Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit organization that revitalizes communities by making home and yard repairs for the elderly, disabled and veterans. 

Robins Financial Credit Union Names 2016 MEST Scholarship Recipients

Warner Robins, GA — For the 20th consecutive year, Robins Financial Credit Union awarded five high school seniors from Central Georgia with the Most Excellent Senior Team (MEST) Scholarship.

The scholarship will pay the winners in $500 increments throughout their four years of college. It encourages academic excellence and requires that students maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average to continue to receive disbursements. Students may use the funds for any school related expenses.

This year, Robins Financial received over 100 applications. Applicants are judged on their academic excellence, extracurricular and community activities, letters of recommendation, and a written essay.

This year’s winners are:

Gillian Pritchett – Gillian currently goes to school at Warner Robins High School. She plans to attend Wesleyan College for Early Childhood Education.

Robins Financial Partners with Houston County Habitat for Humanity

Warner Robins, GA — Robins Financial Credit Union continued its support for Habitat for Humanity on Saturday.

Employees from Robins Financial volunteered to help build a home for a homeowner in the community. Work day tasks included installing insulation, weather stripping, and other maintenance items.

Robins Financial Credit Union has partnered with the Houston County Habitat for Humanity since 2008 and employees have frequently donated their time to construct Habitat homes.

Main Street Macon offering small business marketing grants

Macon-Bibb County, through its Main Street Macon program, is offering a new tool to support small businesses and help them be successful. Eligible businesses can apply for a grant of up to $1,500 for marketing assistance that will help to create or maintain jobs that benefit people with low to moderate incomes. The grants are being made available from a $50,000 Marketing Grant Program using Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

“By providing retail and business owners this opportunity, we want to help our small and local businesses thrive, grow, and continue to create experiences that reflect our unique community,” says Main Street Macon Manager Steven Fulbright. “In the past several years, our urban core has attracted more and more entrepreneurs to open new businesses or relocated existing businesses, and we want to help them succeed and be a part of the ongoing revitalization of Downtown and our entire community.”

Robins Financial Credit Union Announces Manager and Employees of the Quarter

Warner Robins, GA — Each quarter, Robins Financial Credit Union selects three employees that represent the best of the best in three categories – Manager, Support Department Staff and Branch Staff. Employees are selected by management based on their outstanding work performance and written recommendations from their peers. The winners chosen for the fourth quarter of 2015 are as follows:

 

Steve Evans, Indirect Lending Department – Evans is the manager of Robins Financial’s Indirect Lending department. He has been employed by Robins Financial Credit Union for 17 years. He enjoys reading military history and fantasy as well as collecting music, especially vinyl records.
