Credit Union Partners with The Mentors Project of Bibb Co. | Business
Robins Federal Credit Union recently renewed its partnership with The Mentors Project of Bibb County by becoming a corporate sponsor of the non-profit’s upcoming Bowl-A-Thon.
The Mentors Project matches at-risk Bibb County students with adult role models in an effort to keep the students in school and encourage them to improve their lives by graduating. Last year, over 300 students stayed in school thanks to the commitment of The Mentors Project’s role models.
The Bowl-A-Thon will be held at Gold Cup Bowling Center on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon on September 15, 2012. Robins Federal has sponsored the event, the non-profit’s sole fundraiser, for the past two years.
Additionally, Robins Federal employees have taught financial workshops to The Mentors Project students in order to put them on the right track to bettering their lives. Employees from Robins Federal Credit Union’s Training Department have led discussions on balancing check registers, the need to establish a budget, how to save for the future and how to establish credit.
Robins Federal Credit Union is a local non-profit financial cooperative with nineteen branches in central Georgia. Robins Federal currently provides financial services to over 140,000 members, with assets exceeding $1.5 billion. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the 16 counties Robins Federal serves.
