Dovetail, a new farm-to-table restaurant, will celebrate its Grand Opening on Thursday, November 1 at 2:30 p.m. at 543 Cherry Street.

Dovetail represents a growing segment of the restaurant industry. By working with local producers Griffith and Evans are able to showcase produce and other products that are seasonally appropriate and produced within the region. “This is a unique dining experience in Macon. Nothing like Dovetail is available in the area that highlights the local producers and has the diverse wine and whiskey selection that we have,” says Roger Riddle, marketing director for Moonhanger Group.

Evans and Griffith are not new to the Downtown scene. They bought The Rookery in 2009 and began reinventing a Downtown landmark. They began working on the farm-to-table concept there. “We got involved in the sustainability movement as the Mulberry Street Market took off. We worked with those producers to bring their products to our customers. The Rookery was a good platform for testing the idea. Dovetail allows us to expand on this identity,” Evans says.

Evans and Griffith created Moonhanger Group which now manages the Armory Ballroom, The Rookery and Dovetail. “We have been invested Downtown for several years now and we want to see Downtown continue to grow,” says Griffith. “Macon is full of creativity and Dovetail showcases creativity in cuisine,” Rogers says, “We are excited about providing something new for our loyal Rookery customers and attracting new people to Downtown to experience Dovetail.”

Dovetail will be open Thursday – Saturday from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
