Pre-teen entrepreneur camp in Middle Georgia puts kids to work for themselves

According to the National Youth Employment Coalition, youth employment is at a 60-year low. While some kids vie for summer jobs, Building Young Entrepreneurs will put them to work for themselves.

Building Young Entrepreneurs (BYE) is a program for middle school students created to recruit and train the next generation of entrepreneurs. During the 8-week camp, students will learn to develop a real business, raise start-up funds, and pitch their idea at the end of the summer. The curriculum includes emphasis on writing, networking, and presentation skills. Camp goers will see real examples of entrepreneurs their age running successful businesses.

Warner Robins, GA — Central Georgia residents recently shredded 41,250 pounds, or 20.63 tons, of documents containing sensitive material at Robins Federal Credit Union’s popular Shred Day events.

Five Shred Day events were held at Robins Federal Credit Union’s Bluebird Boulevard branch in Ft. Valley, Perry Parkway branch in Perry, Zebulon Road branch in Macon, West Clinton Street branch in Gray, and Watson Boulevard branch in Warner Robins.

Shred Day is a semiannual event with a dual purpose - to protect the Middle Georgia community from identity theft and to protect the environment. Members of the community are invited to shred personal information, including financial records, receipts and prescriptions. All shredded documents are then recycled.
