Demolition makes way for Log Cabin Drive improvements

Crews from Macon-Bibb County’s Public Works Department tore down an abandoned house at the corner of Log Cabin Drive and Hollingsworth Road in mid-November to make way for the realignment of the intersection as part of a $1.5 million, SPLOST-funded road and pedestrian safety improvement project.

The Log Cabin Drive improvement project will include a new pedestrian bridge and repairs to the current roadway bridge over Rocky Creek; constructing new curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage swales, drainage structures and driveways; realign the intersection of Hollingsworth Road and Log Cabin Drive; adding a northbound left-turn-lane on Log Cabin Drive at Hollingsworth Road; and more.
