Mount de Sales Academy Celebrates Newly Renovated Chapel | Community Spirit
Mount de Sales Academy celebrated its newly renovated chapel during a faculty and staff inservice immediately prior to the opening of the new school year. Housed in Sheridan Hall, the chapel was originally completed in 1994 and lateer dedicated in memory of loyal supporters, past-parents and -grandparents, Chris and Eleanor Sheridan.
Over the summer break from school, faculty and maintenance staff worked tirelessly in renewing the chapel.
Newly installed carpet and a fresh coat of paint were just a small piece of the project. Working together, an elevated altar section was constructed and a beautiful new crucifix painstakingly hung as the final piece of the chapel's transformation.
In recognition for his many years of loving support of Mount de Sales Academy, its employees, students, and their families, a mass was held on Tuesday, August 7, during which the newly installed crucifix was blessed and dedicated in honor of Monsignor John Cuddy.
The main celebrant for the mass was Fr. Dawid Kwiatkowski, assisted by Deacon Don Coates. Pictured are (l-r) Fr.
