Robins Financial Credit Union Sponsors Cherry Blossom Pins

Macon, GA — Robins Financial Credit Union will once again sponsor the Cherry Blossom pins for the 2017 Cherry Blossom Festival.

Beginning on Wednesday, February 1st, Cherry Blossom pins may be purchased for $5 each. Pins are available at the following Robins Financial Credit Union locations:

MLK Day marchers converge downtown with message of unity

On January 16, people gathered at Rosa Jackson Recreation Center, Frank Johnson Recreation Center, Booker T. Washington Center, and Memorial Park Recreation Center to march in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. People prayed and chanted as they made their way downtown and met at Government Center. Mayor Robert Reichert spoke at the event, encouraging everyone to be involved in their community to honor the legacy of Dr. King.

First year of recycling a success in Macon-Bibb

In January 2016, Macon-Bibb County introduced a new recycling program that began offering curbside pickup to all interested residents. Upon request, people could get a 65-gallon rolling recycling cart and participate in the new program. After one year of the program, more and more people are interested in being part of this green initiative and diverting trash from the landfill.

“This has been a great first year for the expanded recycling program,” says Solid Waste Director Kevin Barkley. “We’ve been amazed at how quickly this many people have asked to be a part of the program, and we couldn’t be prouder of our community. It shows that people care about recycling and want to help make a greener, more beautiful Macon-Bibb.”

Macon-Bibb public park hours shift to increase safety

In an effort to keep our parks and recreation centers safer for everyone in Macon-Bibb, commissioners voted to change the hours for our public play areas. This includes both the active and passive parks, and our recreation centers. 

From now through March 31, no one is allowed in the parks from 6 p.m. - 8 a.m., and from April 1 - October 31, parks are closed from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Robins Financial Credit Union’s 25 Days of Holiday Giving

Warner Robins, GA — Robins Financial Credit Union will be giving back to the community during the holidays with their 25 Days of Holiday Giving. They selected 25 different organizations throughout their county radius to provide a monetary donation to help the organizations with their holiday festivities. The following organizations received a donation during the fourth week:

· Daybreak in Macon received a $1,000 donation. This organization is a resource center to help the homeless.

· Loaves & Fishes in Macon received a $500 donation. This organization strives to make life better for the homeless.

· Cherished Children Daycare in Warner Robins received a $1,000 donation. This organization assists families with purchasing gifts during the holidays.

Robins Financial Credit Union Brightens the Holidays for Meals on Wheels Recipients

Warner Robins, GA — Robins Financial Credit Union employees recently donated over 60 Christmas gifts for elderly and disabled Central Georgia residents.

Robins Financial employees created Christmas gift boxes for donations to the Meals on Wheels of Houston County’s “Shoeboxes for the Elderly” program. The packages contained a variety of items from candy and games to personal care items. These items will be delivered to Meals on Wheels recipients along with a hot meal on Christmas day.
