Save A Pet Adoptions

Save A Pet will be holding a dog adoption event at the Macon PetSmart on Saturday, February 19.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Most dog adoptions are $125, and most dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and are up-to-date on shots.

Middle Georgia Healthy Community Initiative is Celebrating National Marriage Week Feb. 13 – 17. 

10 Great Dates kick-off is Thursday, February 17, 6:30 p.m. at Hephzibah Dining Hall located on Zebulon Rd. in Macon. 

Authors of 10 Great Dates, David and Claudia Arp, will be present to take the couples through their date night.

Museum of Aviation Holds 6th Golf Tournament in Memory of Robert L. Scott Jr.

The Museum of Aviation Foundation will hold the sixth Annual Brig. Gen. Robert L. Scott, Jr. Memorial Golf Scramble April 15, 2011 at Healy Point Country Club in Macon. 

February 27 will mark five years since the famed World War II flying ace from Macon Georgia passed away less than two months before his 98th birthday.  

“Scott’s memory lives on in Middle Georgia,” said Pat Bartness, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Foundation. 

“This tournament honors Macon’s true hometown hero whose legacy will forever be enshrined at the Museum of Aviation.”  Last year, in honor of General Scott, the Museum of Aviation named its newest hangar the Scott Exhibit Hangar.

Coliseum Health System Appoints Three New Board Members

Coliseum Health System has appointed three new board members to the Board of Trustees. 

Patrice Webster, MD, Chief of Staff for Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health, Jeffrey Burnette, MD, Chief of Staff for Coliseum Northside Hospital, and Jimmy Hinson, Vice President of Employee Benefits with BB&T Insurance Services, Inc, have recently been appointed to serve on the Board of Trustees, a Coliseum Health System news release says. 

The Board of Trustees is established to assist and advise the CEO, the Limited Liability Company, The Board of Directors and the Medical Staff.

The Board of Trustees is composed of sixteen individuals representing the community at large, the active medical staff and the hospital leadership. 

Their primary function is to assure that the hospital and its medical staff provides quality medical care that meets the needs of the community. 

Ocmulgee Symphony Orchestra February Performance

The Ocmulgee Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Hawkinsville Opera House and Wesleyan College this month.

The orchestra will perform Mozart's Don Giovani, Hadyn's Cello Concerto in D Major and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7.

The performance will take place at the Hawkinsville Opera House on February 26 at 7:30 p.m. and on February 27 at Wesleyan College in Macon on February 27.
