Alexander II Magnet Receives Statewide Recognition

Alexander II Magnet is receiving a Bronze Award from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) under its Single Statewide Accountability System (SSAS) for its high percentage of students meeting or exceeding standards on the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests.

Each year, the GOSA recognizes schools for excellence in student performance, and the Bronze Award is given to schools that are not in Needs Improvement that have 95 percent or more of students meeting or exceeding standards and 20 percent or more of students exceeding standards.

“We are so proud of our students and their achievement, and we are delighted and honored to have their hard work – as well as the work of our faculty and staff – recognized,” says Alexander II Magnet Principal Dr. Linda Bivins. “Our drive is for our students to exceed, not just meet, the standards.”
