Two More Zodiac Suspects Denied Bond
Crime

A magistrate court judge denied two suspects bond Wednesday in connection with the July shooting at the Zodiac Lounge in Macon that left one teen dead.

Andre Bonner is charged with charged with criminal attempt to commit murder and participation in gang activity and murder. Police said he shot 17-year-old Jammoni Bland.

But Bonner's lawyer, Melvin Raines II, said a witness mistakenly identified John Hollingshed as Bonner. He said the two men are both of similar height and weight and that pictures seen in the media only show Hollingshed.

"There are no pictures out there that even contain Mr. Bonner," he said. "So as far as if it's a matter of seeing someone on a surveillance tape, then it could just be a case of mistaken identity," added Raines.

However, he said he isn't implicating Hollingshed.

"I brought that up just to point out the inconsistencies as far as you saying you saw someone in a photo lineup in the warrant. That's what the warrant says, that the eyewitness identified Mr. Bonner from a photo lineup. And if one were to look at two pictures of Mr. Bonner and Mr. Hollingshed they could easily be confused," said Raines.

Kiyo Latrice Jones was also denied bond. She's charged with attempt to commit murder and participation in criminal street gang activity.

Bonner has a bond hearing set for Thursday morning with a superior court judge at the Bibb County Jail.
