Police Chief: Weekend Homicides Not Related

Macon Police Chief Mike Burns says the three Macon homicides that happened over the weekend are not connected.

In a press release Burns said, "The cases aren't even close to being related. Each is a separate incident."

On Friday, Yvonne Jackson was found dead after a home fire. Police are investigating it as a homicide and say the fire was arson.

Antonio Felton was shot in the head outside a Macon convenience store early Saturday morning. Police say they're looking for two men in connection with his death, Joseph Michael Williams and Nuwruhaqq Bruce Hamilton.

Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Leonard Cox was found dead inside an abandoned home.

Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet says before Friday three homicides happened in the city this year. She says arrests were made in all three cases.

Gaudet says the three homicides from this weekend, make a total of six for the year.

She says investigators are working to make arrests in the new cases.
