Police: Man Assaults Two Macon Officers | Crime
A fight broke out in downtown Macon shortly after last call Saturday around 2 a.m.
As bike patrol officers attempted to break it up, police say 23-year-old Deja Antonio Grier punched two officers.
One of the assaulted officers had to be treated for his injuries, receiving six stitches around his eye to close two wounds sustained in the fracas.
The fight took place on Cherry Street near Martin Luther King Blvd.
Police searched Grier and found a small bag of marijuana. He was taken to the Bibb County jail and charged with battery on an officer, aggravated assault, felony obstruction and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Grier's bail was set at $9,385 and he remains in jail at this time.
