A Macon police news release says the two officers accused of stealing a tractor are no longer on the force.
"Officers Troy Guidry and Jon Wantz are no longer employed by the Macon Police Department," the release said in its entirety.
In response to a question, Macon Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet said the officers resigned under pending termination.
The tractor, worth almost $25,000, was allegedly stolen from a Macon plumbing business Wednesday night or Thursday. The owner says he used GPS to track it to Guidry's Monroe County home.
Guidry and Wantz are free on bond.
On Friday, Gaudet said Chief Mike Burns had no comment on the two men's job status.
