The fight started, according to a news release, when the victim intervened because the suspect, Kierra Lashon Thomas, was shaking her 2-year-old daughter.
Police say, as the victim's son attempted to stop the fight, Thomas kicked the victim in the stomach and hit her in the head, knocking her unconscious.
Thomas has been charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Bibb County jail where she remains. Her bond was set at $16,700.
The victim was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia. No update on her condition, or the 2-year-old's, was given.
