No Bond for Suspected Getaway Driver in Fatal Shooting

Bond was denied for the woman accused of driving the getaway car in last week's fatal shooting outside a Macon nightclub. 

Miranda Pettiway was in court Thursday afternoon for a first appearance.  

According to the arrest warrant, Pettiway admitted driving Andre Bonner, the man who is suspected of shooting and killing 17-year-old Jammoni Bland outside the Zodiac Lounge last Friday morning.

Bland was shot five times at close range and died at the scene.

The warrant also says Pettiway drove a second man, John Hollingshed, who shot and wounded Deion Davis.  Davis was shot eight times.

Bonner is in the Bibb County is in the Bibb County jail, charged with criminal attempt to commit murder and participation in gang activity and murder.

He was taken into custody last Friday, the day of the shooting, and police say he was formally charged Tuesday in Bland's killing.

Woman Arrested After Stabbing in West Bibb County

Bibb Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a stabbing that happened Wednesday night around 11:00.

In a press release, the department said that a witness told them 47-year-old Lisa Martino entered a mobile home at 5500 Forest Place Trailer Park and starting arguing with 23-year-old Camille Gordon.

During the argument Gordon was stabbed in the left leg and right arm. Martino left the scene and returned to her hotel room at the Windsor Inn on Romeiser Drive.

Deputies arrested Martino and charged her with aggravated assault. She is in the Bibb County jail.  

Felony Murder Charges Added in Gail Spencer Case

The four people accused of murdering legal secretary Gail Spencer now face new charges from a grand jury.

Tracy Jones, Michael Brett Kelly, Courtney Kelly and Keith Dozier already faced one count each of malice murder as well as some lesser charges.

On Tuesday, a grand jury tacked on three counts each of felony murder.

Prosecutors say Spencer was suffocated in her home last October.
They believe Spencer was killed as part of an embezzlement plot against the Macon law office where she worked.

The four defendants remain in the Bibb County jail.

Man Robs North Bibb Hotel

Authorities say a man robbed a north Macon hotel and drove off early this morning.

The Bibb Sheriff's Office says an armed man demanded cash and personal items from the clerk at the Comfort Inn and Suites, at 3935 Arkwright Road.

Witnesses say the man took off in a white sedan.

It happened around 2 a.m.

No one was hurt.

Three Arrested After East Macon Standoff

Three people are in jail after an apparent standoff in an east Macon neighborhood.

It happened on the 1100 block of Hawkinsville Avenue.

Ronea Foster says she and her boyfriend Davarius Curry woke up last night when they heard fighting and gunshots. Police arrived on the scene less than an hour later.

But Foster says she didn't open the door when police knocked, because she was scared.

Around 2 a.m., police told the people in the duplex, "Please come out of the house with your hands behind your back."

Officers threatened to use tear gas and a suspect inside released several people, including at least two children.

Police broke down Foster's door around 3 a.m.

Sgt. Chapman with Macon police said he could not release any details, but eyewitnesses tell us two men and a woman were taken into custody. They say they heard two men arguing about a woman before the standoff. 

Macon Police Officer Arrested on Drug Charge

A Macon police officer has been relieved of her badge and gun after she was arrested in Monroe County on a drug charge.

That's according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The release says 27-year-old Kontrina Lanette Toomer and 30-year-old Horace Wise were arrested in their home Thursday afternoon on North Frontage Road in Forsyth.

The Forsyth drug squad arrived around 2:45 p.m. and found packaged marijuana, some pills, a semi-automatic handgun, and around $4,000 in cash.

Horace Wise, whom the sheriff's office says is a registered sex offender, faces seven charges, most of which are gun and drug related.

According to the release, Kontrina Toomer faces a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and a charge of reckless conduct for child endangerment.

The release says there were children in the home who are now staying with relatives. It is not clear whose children they are.

Police: Four Arrested for Smiley's Ice Cream Theft

Four men have been arrested after allegedly stealing  ice cream and bottled drinks from a local business early Tuesday morning.

According to a release, Takelvin Raines, Tony Burnette, James Davis and Terrell Burnette allegedly broke into Smiley's Flea Market around 3 a.m. and deputies found ice cream and bottled drinks on the four men and inside their vehicle.

The driver was armed with a .40 caliber Glock handgun and police also found two extra magazines loaded with ammo, three ski masks, hand gloves, two walkie talkies, tools and a stolen floor jack from Warner Robins Towing.

Deputy Shane Howard said he was patrolling near the flea market when he saw a black Integra that looked familiar.

The vehicle was warm and parked in front of Auto Air. That's at Liberty Church Road and Hawkinsville Road.

He had stopped the vehicle a few days earlier for a traffic violation.
