Romain Dallemand has accepted the three-year contract extension offered by the Bibb County Board of Education, the school district announced today.
The new contract runs from January 1, 2013 to the end of 2015. It replaces his original contract which was scheduled to end on June 30, 2013.
The school board approved the contact offer Monday night.
Dallemand's annual salary will remain $198,000.
Three board members voted against the offer.
One of them, Gary Bechtel, said increased benefits amounted to a back-door increase in pay.
Dallemand's car allowance doubles to $800 a year, and his term life insurance policy to $1 million.
His benefits will include 25 days of vacation a year and 60 days of sick leave in 2014.
In a news release, Dallemand said "The decision by the Board to offer an extension to my contract demonstrates its commitment to continuous improvements that are outlined in The Macon Miracle," his strategic plan to raise standards and graduation rates in Bibb County public schools.
The new contract includes performance goals for the Macon Miracle plan.
