The Bibb County School board is expected to receive details tonight from the GA School Board Association (GSBA) regarding services the group offers relating to a CEO search.
Dr. Jim Puckett, Board Development Specialist with GSBA told 13WMAZ that his organization offers a number of services to all 180 school systems across the state and tonight will be an information session.
"We have been invited down to inform the board members how we can help with a search, our resources, process and logistics. It is a time to share information about the wide variety of services we offer and explain how our organization can assist in the search. Ultimately, it is up to the school board to select the next leader," Puckett said.
Acting board chair Susan Sipe said, "We agreed as a board to invite GSBA and specifically want their ideas in establishing procedures in our search for an interim and permanent superintendent."
When asked about the official request for GSBA to officially assist in the search and any potential costs of utilizing their services, Sipe said, "I don't know the answer to that, but that will be something we will discuss."
The Bibb BOE approved a buy out of Romain Dallemand's contract last week and has since named Susanne Griffin-Ziebart as acting superintendent.
In a press release from the district, the board will also go into an executive session. While Sipe couldn't comment on what the elected members may discuss, criteria for exectuive meetings include discussions of personnel, litigation and/or acquisition of property.
