Mount de Sales Academy Students Study Geological Features in Providence Canyon
Members of the Mount de Sales Academy Earth Science classes traveled to Providence Canyon on October 19. Providence Canyon, also known as Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon,” serves as a testament to the power of man’s influence on the land as massive gullies, some as deep as 150 feet, were caused simply by poor farming practices during the 1800s. MDS students took the unique opportunity to explore the geological features exposed within the canyon.
