Minor Spill Reported

270 gallons of water was discharged into a ditch feeding the Ocmulgee River Sunday.

A Macon Water Authority news release says the cause of the spill was grease.

"There are no commercial grease sources upstream from this location and residential grease is not regulated," the release says.

Debris was removed from the surrounding area as well as the area that was affected.

The line will be cleaned and will be added to the weekly "hot spot" inspection list, a Macon Water Authority news release says.
