New Macon Coffee Shop Features Western Flair | Families
A new coffee shop has opened in downtown Macon, across Poplar Street from the Dannenberg loft project.
Business owners Kevin Reaves and Bryan Nichols call it Taste and See.
Reaves and his wife dreamed of opening this type of business for at least five years, he says.
As Mercer alumni and lifelong Maconites, they're proud to open a place for any walk of life from business owners to college students to people wanting a cup of joe after a movie.
Although Nichols is originally from Tifton and his wife from Michigan, they say they've lived in Macon for a long time.
It's a coffee shop with a western flair, they say, featuring stonework and hardwood floors, with embellishments like antler-horned lighting like you may see in a mountain cabin.
Reaves loves to travel with his family, especially to Colorado, and take photographs of scenic views. That's where the "See" part comes in.
When you come for the coffee, you'll also see the photographic artwork hanging throughout the store.
The owners have also opened lofts above the coffee shop.
The best coffee specialty drink on their menu, Reaves says, is called Liquid Gold.
They're at 546 Poplar Street and are open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Mondays through Thursdays they're open from 7 a.m . until 10 p.m.
