New layoffs in Central Georgia down for November | Families
New layoffs in Central Georgia were down in November by 36 percent.
Central Georgia's unemployment rate fell to 7.6 percent, down from October's 8.4 percent, according to a Department of Labor news release.
The rate fell when fewer people were laid off in manufacturing, health care, social assistance and administrative fields.
That is almost three points higher than Georgia's lowest unemployment rate in Athens.
