Chief Riggins: Fatal Fire Probably Accidental
Macon police and the Macon-Bibb Fire Department both say they're investigating the cause of a fire that killed three children Sunday.
Fire Chief Marvin Riggins said Monday that he believes the fire on James Street was accidental.
But they're still not sure of the exact cause.
He said it apparently broke out in a room where nobody was sleeping.
A police report says the children's mom, Colethia Williams, was apparently not home when the fire broke out around 1:30 a.m., Sunday.
A fourth sibling remains in critical condition in an Augusta hospital.
