The 567 Offers Crafts & Carols for Kids

On Saturday, Dec. 18, The 567 Center for Renewal (The 567) is scheduled to host Crafts & Carols.

The event will start at 10 a.m. with story and sing-along time. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. kids will have a chance to work on arts and crafts projects with their parents.

The cost is $5 per child. Those who plan to attend should contact The 567 to RSVP.

The 567 is located at 533 Cherry Street in downtown Macon.

Kids Yule Love: Day 4 of 13 Days of Giving

Kids Yule Love is a non-profit organization founded in 1986 and its mission is to provide Christmas presents and a message of hope to the less fortunate children in the Middle Georgia area.

Kids Yule Love partners with businesses in the Middle Georgia area who either want to become a sponsor or a  Kids Yule Love drop point.  Kids Yule Love also serves people throughout the year with Baskets of Joy at Easter, Kids School Tools during the school year & the Smoke Detector Program.

North Macon Park Gym Hosts Holiday Camp

North Macon Park, a division of the Macon-Bibb Department of Parks and Recreation, will host a Christmas week fun fest for youth.

Dec. 20: Two ball contest for ages 9-12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dec. 21: Movie Theater Trip, $10 per child.

Dec. 22: Indoor soccer for ages 4-12 from 6-8 p.m.

Dec. 23: Drop and Shop, last-minute shopping trip from 3-6 p.m.

Music Hall of Fame Holiday Event Scheduled for Saturday

On Saturday, Dec. 4 at 12 p.m., the Music Hall of Fame will host its Monthly First Saturday's Music In Kids Education (MIKE).

Gwen Hughes and Mike Hinton will be a part of an interactive two-part series of holiday sing-a-longs.

The intermission will include holiday crafts and refreshments.

Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Santa's elves will be available for photo opportunities.

Admission for children is $3.50.

Bolingbroke Christmas Parade

Bolingbroke Christmas Parade

The Bolingbroke Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m.

The parade will take place at Rivoli Rd.

Pre-parade activities  such as a cake walk and concessions will begin at 2 p.m.

The events will take place in front of the fire station and post office.

Children will be able to visit with Santa in his workshop after the parade.

13 Days of Giving: Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Heart of Georgia serves children in Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Greene, Hancock, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Laurens, Monroe, Peach, Twiggs, Washington, and Wilkinson Counties.  

They have been providing help for community kids since 1953.   Children who have mentors go to school more often, get higher grades, get along with others better, and have higher levels of self esteem.

To help with this project you can volunteer to be a mentor, or donate holiday items for families.
