Several Events at the Mulberry Street Market This Week

As the fall continues to see new and different produce pop out of the ground in Middle GA, the Mulberry Street Market finds new ways to celebrate each week.

This week, along with the ladies of Paint the Town Pink and your weekly wares of fresh produce, baked goods, meats, and honey products, customers will be able to experience chef demonstrations, get recipe cards from vendors, and help the mission of two not-for-profit groups.

Market partner Macon Roots will be hosting the Market's celebration of National Food Day with multiple cooking demos and information on ways to get involved in the middle GA food system.

What Is Your Legacy?

What Is Your Legacy?

Do you think your legacy to your children/grandchildren will be your possessions? Probably not. What will mean the most to them are the memories. In going through some old photos of my grandmother's, my mom and aunt found a handwritten timeline of her life - every move, every birth, every major milestone. What a treasure to find! Along with the many photos of our family throughout years are her legacy to our entire family.

(This is one of my favorite pictures of my grandmother when she was in college - what a looker!)

Mulberry Street Market Extended Through November

Mulberry Street Market Extended Through November

Due to popular demand, the Mulberry Street Market has officially been extended through November.

Market organizers are also looking in to finding a winter home for the vendors so that everyone can have thier fresh food fix throughout the colder months.

This week at market, shoppers will be able to find baked goods, greens, sweet potatoes, and pumpkins.

How 20 Pounds Changed My Life - In an Instant!

How 20 Pounds Changed My Life - In an Instant!

This weekend was a typically busy one. House cleaning, events, kids’ birthday parties, a new dog…  Wait, a new dog! That’s not typical, nor was it very planned.  That is so not my style!

With some time to kill while the kids were at a birthday party, my husband suggested we stroll through PetSmart. After appropriately bantering about the birds and rodents, we ended up at the adoption area. We loved on the kittens and then made our way to the dogs where the biggest pair of brown eyes looked up at me and said “Mommy, take me home!”

Now I am usually a sap when it comes to kittens and puppies but I generally can walk away. But this time was different. So to make a long story short, we came home with Joie, a 4-month-old black lab mix with the sweetest disposition and, of course, the sweetest pair of eyes around!
