Donate Your Shoes, Please

Donate Your Shoes, Please

I am very happy to announce that along with my colleagues at NAPO Georgia I am participating in the NAPO Challenge with Soles4Souls, a non-profit organization that accepts donated shoes in any condition and then uses them to help people all over the world.

Why are shoes important?  Having footwear is a first step in helping people in impoverished areas to live healthy, productive lives. Footwear can help eliminate the spreading of diseases through the foot as well as help children obtain an education, as many schools have footwear requirements to attend.  For more info on the specifics of how Soles4Souls works, see their FAQs.

Why Get Organized? It's all in the Numbers...

Sure, it would be nice to organized, right? But who has the time or energy to actually accomplish it.  Consider these statistics and then decide.

As you know by now, Mulberry St. Market is happening Wednesdays in downtown Macon right in front of The Grand Opera House.

I decided it was time to finally check it out for myself (and 13WMAZ, of course).

I found everything from goat's milk soap to peach icecream to eggs to flowers and of course vegetables and fruit.

The Market takes place weekly from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

See the full slideshow from my adventures.

Mulberry St. Market Today!

Today the Mulberry Market in Downtown Macon features Deer Creek Farms in Forsyth, Dickey Farms in Musella, Davis Farms in Roberta, The Little Farm in Gray and the Evergreen East Farm in Jeffersonville.

The Mulberry St. Market is happening from 4-7 p.m. today, Wednesday.

Not only will you find produce, you can find beef, baked goods and jellies.

If you take photos, e-mail them to us at whereyoulive@13wmaz.com.

Are you hearing the Cicadas?

Are you hearing the Cicadas?

Many viewers are telling us that they're hearing the cicadas.

Have you seen any of these noise-making culprits? Some viewers are telling us they are louder this week than they were when they first emerged.
