BCHS Sweeps Northeast to End Regular Season | HS Sports
The Lady Royals trailed Northeast by nine after one quarter of Friday's home regular season finale. Dewanda Blackshear scored seven points, and Tia Troup scored her eighth points of the half as they would rally to tie things at 26.
Bleckley led by eight in the third but the Raiderettes were within four going to the fourth. A 9-0 start helped put the game away as BC won 55-48. Troup finished with 18. Blackshear scored 16. N'yasia Anderson had nine second half points.
Savon Walters had four first half three's, two coming on back to back possessions in the second, as the Royals pushed what was a three-point first quarter lead to 36-26 at halftime. The Raiders would rally, cutting what was 13-point lead to four with under five minutes left. Rydealous Taylor had consecutive baskets as part of a 13-point output in the final four plus minutes.
Bleckley won 67-58. Mario Beck had 18. Taylor scored 16. Walters finished with 12 on 4 of 5 three-point shooting. The Lady Royals, despite the win, finish second in 4-AA due to the tiebreaker. They will play at Macon County February 13 at 8:30 pm as the second seed. The Royals will host a semifinal game February 15 at 8:30 p.m.
