Downed Tree Caused Macon Power Outage
News

1,400 Georgia Power customers lost power early Tuesday morning.

Jacob Hawkins with Georgia Power says a tree fell on a power line in Macon's Riverside Drive area.  He says that caused an issue with the breaker, which knocked power out to nearby customers.

The outage affected Coliseum Northside Hospital.  The hospital told 13WMAZ that they did lose power and were running on a generator.

Hawkins says crews restored power to the area shortly after 2 a.m.
