Coroner Has Tentative ID for Skeletal Remains | News
Bibb County officials have tentatively identified skeletal remains found in woods off Riverside Drive in Macon.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says investigators believe they are the remains of Norman Carl Tucker.
A survey team found the remains in the woods, about 500 feet off Old Holton Road. That's near Riverside Drive, behind Youman Chevrolet.
According to Jones, the survey team found a complete skeleton, but the skull was separated from the rest by 20 to 30 feet.
He says clothes and an ID were also found, but the remains have been sent to the GBI crime lab for verification.
He says they believe the remains are those of a white male in his 50s. Jones said the man hadn't been seen for several months.
The cause of death is unknown.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones is asking for the public's help in locating the man's family. Anyone with information on Norman Carl Tucker can contact the coroner's office at 621-6314.
