Law Enforcement raises money for Bibb Mentors project | News
Six teams of law enforcement officials gather in the gym at Southwest High School in Macon for two days of basketball. Money from the ticket sales at the tournament will go to help the Mentors project of Bibb County.
Retired Bibb Sheriff Eli Taylor is one of the organizers of the tournament. He currently serves with the Civil Court of Bibb County. He says it is important to raise money for programs like the mentors project because it helps to keep kids off the street and out of trouble.
Lt. Bridgette Johnson with the Bibb Sheriff's office says that it is important that young people know their local authorities are here to protect and serve their needs.
The tournament wraps up on Saturday with a championship game at 5 in the afternoon.
