Macon I-75 Construction Could Wind Down Soon | News
I-75 Construction in Macon may wind down soon.New on and off ramps opened Monday at Riverside Drive near Lee Road.
We talked to Jerry Henderson, General Manager at S&S Cafeteria on Riverside Drive right by I-75.
The restaurant says they're glad construction is winding down because they had to make more entrances to make it more accessible
"We did have to come up with alternative ways to get into the property we have an exit and entrance and an exit there and one on the north side of our building which was helpful to our customers to get in because part of the time the front entrances were blocked," said Henderson.
Henderson says the construction affected his lunchtime crowd.
"Especially during the week our business customers only have a few minutes to eat had a difficult time getting here and getting back to work on time so it did have a definite impact on our customers," said Henderson. "On the weekend fortunately they had more time to get here so our weekend business was good."
Georgia Department of Transportation's Kimberly Larson says October 31st is the estimated completion date for I-75 construction from the Pierce Avenue exit to Arkwright exits.
