Central Georgia Remembers the Lives Lost on 9/11
News

Communities around Central Georgia are remembering the nearly 3,000 lives lost 12 years ago today when terrorists attacked several locations in the United States.

One of those was hosted by the Macon - Bibb Law enforcement foundation.

The group's community memorial ceremony gathered at the Public Safety Memorial Park on Second and Mulberry Streets.

Local dignitaries commemorated 9/11 by laying down flowers and wreaths, and playing the national anthem Wednesday morning.

The Macon-Bibb Fire Department also created a memorial by parking a fire truck on each of Mulberry and crossing their ladders to create an arch and hang an American flag.

The event also featured a flyover with Georgia State Patrol helicopters.
