Southwest students spread holiday cheer | News
Some Southwest High School students gave a holiday surprise to people who live at a Macon assisted living home Thursday morning.
The Southwest High School choir sang Christmas carols like "Carol of the Bells".
Choral Director Levita Carter says the visit helped student build strength of character.
She says giving back to people, like resident Beverly Lipkins, is important for students during the holidays.
"It made me feel really good to know that they cared enough to come and sing for us. It was a beautiful thing," said Lipkins.
Carter said, "The students were very pleased to see the smiles on the faces of the residents. What made me even happier was to see the children give."
The students also made Christmas cards to hand out to the folks at Blair House.
