Unionville church provides for hundreds | News
Members of a Macon church spent time Saturday making sure hundreds of families won't go without this Christmas.
Around 500 people showed up to Unionville Missionary Baptist Church to take part in their community outreach project.
Unionville member, Brenda Smith, said they gave out 200 coats, 400 toys, and 500 boxes of food to people who pre-registered for the event.
Smith says the church has held the outreach project for a number of years.
"We've been grateful that we have been able to serve our community that we've noticed, and it's just been a great feeling for a lot of us," said Smith.
Lisa Lockwood said, "It's a blessing for me to be up here to get whatever it is that I can get, because I'm very grateful."
Members of Unionville Baptist Church say their outreach is sponsored by their congregation and other local businesses.
